China intensifies security for Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said on Wednesday that Beijing organizers had confirmed licenses and frequencies would be granted to broadcasters to allow live transmission from around the city and Tiananmen Square during the Games.

Broadcasters, some of which pay billions of dollars for Olympic rights, had complained that China had not been forthcoming with the licenses and had tied up other processes with red tape.
