Indian boxer Jitender Kumar made an impressive start to his campaign at the 2008 Olympics when he beat Turkey's Ulas Furkan Memis in his first round match in Beijing on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Jitender was leading 12-3, when his opponent threw in the towel 1:21 seconds in the third round.
He will next face Uzbekistan's Tulashboy Doniyorov, who beat Ngumba Irungu Bernard of Kenya 10:1 in his first round encounter.
