The Indian challenge in the men's singles of the US $15000 ITF Bellary Open ended following the defeat of Ashutosh Singh in the semi-finals, in Bellary, Karnataka, on Friday.
The Delhi boy lost to third seed Rainer Eitzinger of Austria 3-6, 4-6.
Rainer will now face off with Croat Ivan Cerovic, who overcame a fighting Philipp Oswald of Austria 7-6(6) 7-5.
Ashutosh later shrugged of his singles semi-final defeat and went on to win the men's doubles title with Vivek Shokeen.
The unseeded Indian pair shocked the second seeded Austrain pair of Rainer Eitzinger and Philipp Oswald 7-6, 3-6, 10-4 in the final at the Police Gymkhana courts.
This is Ashutosh's second ITF doubles title of the season and fifth overall.
National champion Ashutosh had ended Rupesh Roy's good run in the quarter-finals on Thursday with a 6-4, 6-3 victory, while Eitzinger ousted fifth seed Dekel Valtzer 7-5, 6-2.
In the other quarter-fianl matches, Oswald beat Serbian Darko Madjarovski 6-4, 7-6(2) while Cerovic demolished another Serbian Robert Belak 6-3, 6-0.
Shokeen and Ashutosh reached the final of the doubles after beating Indo-Kazak duo of Vijay Kannan and Alexey Kedryuk 6-7(7), 6-2, 10-5.
For the title, the Indian pair faces Austrian duo of Rainer and Philipp, who overcame stiff resistance from N Vijay Sundar Prashant and Ranjeet Virali Murugesan 6-3, 6-7(5), 10-6.
