Ferrari's Massa comes up behind Scott Speed in the Toro Rosso.

A gearbox problem saw the Brazilian miss out on the top qualifying places and he was due to start the race in 16th place, but Ferrari took the precaution of replacing his engine and with it an automatic 10-place penalty to put Massa 22nd and last.

The 25-year-old forced his way through to sixth before an impassable buffer in the shape of Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella halted his charge in the closing laps.
