Commonwealth Games gold medallist Akhil Kumar and three of his compatriots entered the semi-finals of the Asian Boxing Championships
at Ulan Bator in Mongolia on Wednesday.
Amandeep Singh (48kg), Manoj Kumar (64kg) and Dilbagh Singh (69kg) were the other three boxers who entered the last four stage of the tournament, which started on June 4.
Asian Games bronze medallist Vijender, meanwhile, entered the quarter-finals of the 75kg category along with three other Indians in their respective weight categories, Indian Amateur Boxing Federation Executive Director Colonel A S Dagar said.
An 11-member team is representing the country at the 20-team event, which concludes on June 10.
