Indian athletes win 3 gold in Amman

The final day of the championships proved the most beneficial for the Indian contingent as its athletes won three gold medals.

Renjith Maheshwary won the men's triple jump, clearing a distance of 17.19 metres, while Sinimol Paulose clinched the women's 1500m gold, winning in a time of four minutes, 25.67 seconds.

The women's 4x400 metres relay team, comprising Manjeet Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Sini Jose and Chitra K Soman, then finished first in 3:33.39 seconds to swell India's final tally.

Shot Putter Navpreet Singh had won gold earlier with a heave of 19.70 metres, while Chitra Soma was the first to earn the yellow metal for India when she clocked 53.03 seconds in the women's 400 metres to win her first Asian individual title.
