India's teen tennis sensation Sania Mirza [Images] was unable to find the touch that saw her beat some of the best names in the game in the last few months and bowed out in the first round of the 3.1-million dollar Nadaq-100 Open WTA Tour tennis tournament in Miami [Images], USA, on Thursday.
The 18-year-old from Hyderabad lost 2-6, 5-7 to Spaniard Maria Sanchez Lorenzo.
Playing as a wildcard in what was only her second outing in a Tier 1 event, Sania struggled with her serve and committed eight doubles faults as against just one ace in the one hour and 13 minutes match.
She had 10 break points against her, out of which Lorenzo converted seven.
In fact, the 77th-ranked Indian failed to hold serve in the first set and the two games she won were by breaking her opponent, 11 places below her in the rankings.
