Megha to meet Akgul in the final

November 14, 2003 21:58 IST

Megha Vakharia will clash with second seed Akgul Amannuradova of Uzbekistan in the final of the $10,000 NECC-ITF women's tennis tournament at the Deccan Gymkhana tennis courts in Pune.

The Indian will be looking to avenge last week's defeat against the 20-year-old Uzbek.

In today's semi-finals, sixth seeded Megha defeated unseeded Thai Thassa Vitayaviroj in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-4.

In the second semi-final, Akgul got past third seed Karen Patterson of Great Britain 6-2, 7-5.
