The Laureus Awards
Ace football striker Ronaldo missed out on the Sportsman of the Year award, but his performances in Brazil's successful 2002 World Cup campaign earned him the Comeback of the Year award. He also accepted the Team of the Year award on behalf of Brazil's World Cup team.
