Inter's desperate second-half search for a goal bore fruit seven minutes from the end when 18-year-old Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins, brought on at the break, equalised. However, they lost out on a berth in the final on the 'away goal' rule.

A C Milan progressed to the final at Manchester, England, and will meet either Juventus or Real Madrid on May 28.
