French Open 2003
The semi-finalists

Kim Clijsters is more than wary of an opponent who has absolutely nothing to lose. Russia's Nadia Petrova beat Monica Seles and Jennifer Capriati en route to her semi-final slot.

"She's beaten some good players already... she looks like at the moment, the way she's playing, she's doing whatever she wants with the ball. She can go down the line, whatever. She serves well," said Clijsters about Petrova.

Petrova is the first Russian semi-finalist in the Roland Garros women's singles draw since Olga Morozova in 1975.

Petrov shares her birthday (June 8) with Clijsters, and the two are good friends after playing in the junior ranks together. But the Russian is determined to use her status as underdog to great effect.
