SC's nod for Mishra's arrest in Bihar fodder scam
The Supreme Court on Friday gave a free hand to
the Central Bureau of Investigation to execute the non-bailable
arrest warrant against former Bihar chief minister Jagannath
Mishra, an accused in the Rs 9.5 billion fodder scam.
However, the court deferred the hearing on Mishra's special leave
petition challenging the Patna high court judgment rejecting his bail plea.
A three-judge bench comprising Justices M K Mukherjee, S P Kurdukar and K T Thomas told Mishra's counsel Kapil Sibal that the apex court would hear the SLP after Mishra's surrender.
Earlier, the court rejected Mishra's application seeking
exemption from surrendering before the trial court.
