Taken aback by the stinging criticism of their behavior with the Chief Minister K Rosaiah, all the 34 members of Andhra Pradesh cabinet have on Thursday denied that they were not cooperating with Rosaiah and not discharging their duties.

A brief statement signed by all the 34 ministers said that the reports in the media about their not attending the review meetings chaired by the Chief Minister were baseless and far from truth.

The ministers claimed that they had not come out of the grief over the death of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

"After the sudden demise of Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, after completing of funeral, we visited our segments, conducted the condolence meetings and consoling the grief of the public, visited the families those who list their lives on hearing the sudden death of Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and who have gone to the extreme step of self immolations," the statement said.

Some of the media with a view to de-stabilise the party and government are indulging in such mud slinging activities, the statement added. It is a fact that several ministers who are available in Hyderabad have attended office and review meetings chaired by Rosaiah, they are attending the day to day office work, the statement also stated.

"We appeal to the section of print and electronic media that it is not fair on their part to send wrong message to the public and appeal to them to desist from such negative campaign. The people and the government are in grief with the loss of their leader Dr Rajasekhara Reddy, we have not come out from the grief, the state mourning days have just completed," they said.

Several ministers also held individual press conferences to clarify their position and proclaimed their respect for the "elder" leader and Chief Minister K Rosaiah.
