With an FBI team in New Delhi, the Centre on Monday said the US has "promised" total support in probing involvement of terror suspects David Headley and Tahawwur Rana in "various crimes" in India and the agencies here are awaiting the first investigation report by the American investigators.

"Headley and Rana, their involvement in various crimes are being investigated and we have been promised total support from the United States investigating agencies. So, we are awaiting the first report of the investigation," External Affairs Minister S M Krishna told reporters on the sidelines of the second India-Africa Hydrocarbon Conference.

The minister was replying to a query on the help from FBI in probing involvement of Headley and Rana in crimes against India.

The FBI team had held discussions with their Indian counterparts in Mumbai and may share information on alleged links between US terror suspects Headley and Rana with 26/11 terror attacks and several people in India, including filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul.
