New British Prime Minister David Cameron will meet his Indian counterpart in Toronto on Sunday on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit, his first after assuming office last month. Cameron, who heads the Conservative-Liberal Democrats coalition government, will meet Singh to take forward his administration's commitment made in the Queen's Speech to 'work to establish a new special relationship with India.'

This will be the first meeting between the two leaders, since Cameron took over as the British Prime Minister last month. Like the previous Labour Government, the new coalition government is also keen to build a special relationship with India.

During the meeting, the two leaders are likely to discuss bilateral issues and the situation in the region. Besides Singh, Cameron is scheduled to meet US President Barack Obama, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and Chinese President Hu Jintao. Cameron and foreign secretary William Hague have accepted invitations to visit India, but dates have not yet been finalised.

It is the first time in 13 years that India is dealing with Conservative leaders in government, after John Major lost power in 1997.
