Tharoor was not asked to quit, say sources

Rejecting speculation that Shashi Tharoor was asked to step down during his meeting with senior Ministers Pranab Mukherjee and A K Antony, sources close to the Minister of State for External Affairs said on Wednesday night thatĀ things were "okay" on the

issue.

"Things are okay," a source close to Tharoor said reacting to a question whether the minister was asked to put in his papers. Tharoor met the senior ministers in the as the controversy surrounding him in the IPL snowballed with opposition demanding his sacking.
