Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to Colombo to apprise him of the ethnic Tamils issue, Sri Lankan Tamil MP Arumuga Thondaiman claimed today.

"An official invitation in this regard will be sent very soon," the Lankan lawmaker said.

Earlier, Thondaiman also called on Karunanidhi's daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi at her residence and discussed with her the relief and rehabilitation measures to be taken up for the affected Tamils in the island nation.
