We are one family; the whole world is our home.'
With those words, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh gave the latest edition of the annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas its theme while inaugurating the three-day event on a bitingly cold Sunday morning at Vigyan Bhavan's Convention Center, in New Delhi.
"That is why I have often said that while the sun has set on all great empires of the world, the sun will never set on the world of the Indian Diaspora," Singh said, hammering home his theme.
The audience, predictably, rose to its feet - and raised the roof.
