Jagadish Shettar, BJP's third chief minister in four years, will take oath on Wednesday morning.

Shettar was chosen to lead the state after Sadananda Gowda resigned on Sunday following pressure to do so.

Before Shettar could be sworn in, a legislature party meeting of the BJP will be held. Gowda would formally step down while Shettar will be elected leader of the BJP's legislature party on Tuesday.

Sadananda Gowda was forced to step down as CM after B S Yeddyurappa and his MLAs stepped up the pressure against him. The party's leadership was left with no choice but to replace him and announce the name of Shettar as the next CM of the state.
