The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Centre to suggest ways to ban child pornography in all forms in the country.
A bench of justices Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh said child pornography cannot be justified in the name of freedom of speech and expression.
The apex court asked the ruling dispensation at the Centre to seek advice from experts and suggestions from the National Commission for Women on banning of websites dealing with adult and child pornography.
Arguing about government's action on the issue, additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand told the court that agencies like Interpol and the Central Bureau of Investigation are taking necessary steps to block sites which specifically deal in child pornography.
