Former union minister and Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan, who lost the recent Lok Sabha elections, said in Varanasi on Wednesday that his party would contest the 2010 Bihar assembly elections in alliance with Lalu Prasad-led Rashtriya Janata Dal and also welcomed Congress party to their fold.

Paswan said he will not "dissociate" with the RJD chief and claimed to comeback with an "emphatic win in the next assembly polls."

On way to the funeral of a party worker at Azamgarh, the LJP president told PTI despite some resentments among workers, the alliance between LJP and RJD will continue. He said, "If Congress will like to join our alliance in the coming assembly elections in Bihar, we will welcome it," however he clarified that as of now there was no talks with the party in this regard.

Paswan said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will have to pay for what he alleged "dirty politics" and "false propaganda" against him and misusing official machinery to defeat opposition candidates in the Lok Sabha elections.

He claimed, "RJD-LJP combine will emphatically win the 2010 assembly elections and form the next government in Bihar".

Paswan declined to comment on the alleged misbehaviour of Congress with LJP, RJD and the Samajwadi Party during the formation of the Union government in Delhi.

Replying to a question, Paswan accepted that one of the main reasons of LJP's poor show in the Lok Sabha elections was the non-inclusion of Congress in their secular alliance.

"Moreover the Nitish's JD-U (Janata Dal-United) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) indulged in all sort of electoral malpractices and rigging to defeat us," added the LJP chief.

He ruled out any sort of compromise with BJP and JD-U in future and said that he will utilise the time to strengthen his party at the grass-root level.
