It is official now. As we reported earlier, United States President Barack Obama will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in London on April 2, on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit.

"On Thursday, April 2, President Obama will meet with Indian Prime Minister Singh, in addition to the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee.  That's also on April 2," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said on Wednesday night.

Manmohan Singh is one of the few world leaders, whom Obama would be meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in London.

"In addition to the meeting, obviously, with (the British) Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the President will also meet with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

On Wednesday, April 1, President Obama will meet President Hu of China. Also on the 1st, President Obama will meet for the first time with the Russian President Medvedev," Gibbs said.

A White House official later told PTI that Obama intends to discuss a wide range of issues with Singh, which will be the first meeting between the two leaders.

Among the prominent issues that the US President is expected to discuss with Manmohan Singh include the current situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan, climate change and world economy.

"The president looks forward to working with the prime minister to strengthen our bilateral relationship," the White House official said.
