Naxals try to blow up police van in Chhattisgarh

The Naxals attempted to blow up a vehicle transporting a police team in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, officials said. The extremists triggered a landmine blast when the van was passing by near Parleda village, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Avinash Mohanty told PTI by phone. However, there was no damage to the vehicle as it had just passed the blast site when the the landmine was set off.

All policemen are safe, he said. Meanwhile, two Naxals were apprehended from near village Dhanora by a police team, Mohanty said, adding they were being questioned.
