Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik has moved the Goa bench of Bombay high court seeking to set aside a ban imposed by the authorities on his entry into the state.
Muthalik, 46, in the petition filed before the court on Tuesday, argued that the action initiated against him under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code was in violation to the principle of natural justice.
In the petition, which is expected to come up for hearing next week, Muthalik contended that the state officials had not heard his views before passing the order.
The Goa administration had banned Muthalik's entry into the state since March 2009 after media reports claimed that the former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader was planning to visit the state. Muthalik had expressed his wish to start a wing of his right wing outfit in Goa.
District collectors Mihir Vardhan (North) and G P Naik (south) had issued orders banning him and the ban was recently extended.
Muthalik had stirred a controversy in January when his activists attacked female pub goers in Mangalore.
