An adjournment motion, moved by the opposition, to discuss terrorist violence in the country in the wake of Hyderabad blasts was admitted in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Two notices for the motion were given, one each by Leader of the Opposition Lal Kishenchand Advani and Janata Dal-United member Prabhunath Singh.

Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said he had admitted the notice moved by Singh.

It said a discussion be held regarding "failure of the government" to contain terrorist violence as is evident from latest series of incidents, including the Hyderabad blasts.

The Lok Sabha witnessed an uproar over violence in Agra and the incident in Bhagalpur in Bihar where a thief was beaten up by a mob, tied to a motorcycle and dragged.

Rashtriya Janata Dal members threatened to storm the well protesting the Bhagalpur incident.

They alleged this showed there was a "jungle raj" in the Janata Dal-United-Bharatiya Janata Party ruled state and minorities were not safe.

Samajwadi Party members trooped into the well protesting the Agra incident.

Curfew was clamped in parts of Agra following violence after a speeding truck crushed four youths taking part in a religious festival.

Chatterjee adjourned the House till 1230 hours after his repeated pleas to restore order went unheeded.
