America's ABC News claims that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the assassination of former US president John F Kennedy.
The television network came to this conclusion after an exhaustive investigation, which also involved examining a computer-generated reconstruction of the shooting based on maps, blueprints, physical measurements, photographs, films and autopsy reports.
The official government inquiry had also come to the same conclusion. However, doubts persist among a section of the population.
ABC News will air a two-hour special on the event on November 20, two days before the 40th anniversary of the assassination.
ABC News has also concluded that Jack Ruby, who later killed Oswald, also acted on his own.
Even 40 years later, the incident continues to draw public attention.
