Two paramilitary, central reserve police force troopers and five civilians were wounded in a powerful hand grenade explosion in the north Kashmir's Sopore town after the Friday prayers.
The police said the terrorists had lobbed a grenade at a patrol party of the CRPF in Sopore on Friday afternoon which injured two troopers and five civilians standing by.
"The injured were immediately taken to hospital for treatment," a senior police officer said.
The explosion after the weekly Friday prayers triggered panic and tension in the town as security forces surrounded the area for searches.
This is the second explosion in the town in one week. Last Friday, terrorists had targeted a bunker of the paramilitary force in the town, injuring three CRPF jawans and a civilian.
