Sushma Swaraj, deputy leader of Bhartiya Janata Party in Lok Sabha, has said that Gujarat high court order against state Chief Minister Narendra Modi was in no way a setback to him.

The high court had on Friday allowed the Special Investigation Team to go ahead with the investigations in the riots cases and question the chief minister who had so far had avoided joining the investigations.

The court

dismissed the petition challenging the Supreme Court's decision to hand over the complaint against Modi to the SIT. "The court says that since the investigations are being carried out under the Supreme Court's supervision, there's no need to entertain such a petition," the court said in its order.

"The court has given its verdict and Modiji has the option of moving the Supreme Court against that order. Let us wait and watch his actions. But the party would definitely challenge the order," Swaraj told media persons on Friday.
