'Don't feel like...': BJP's Nilesh Rane quits active politics

Bharatiya Janata Party's Nilesh Rane, a former Lok Sabha member on Tuesday that he is stepping away from active politics.

Nilesh is the elder son of Narayan Rane, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and current Union Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

"I am stepping aside from active politics and there is no reason other than that I don't feel like ruling anymore," Rane tweeted on social media app X.

Further in his post Rane said that during the year 2019-20, he had received a lot of love from the people for which he is very grateful and he feels fortunate that he got an opportunity to work in an organization like BJP where he received a lot of love.

"I learned a lot in politics and some colleagues have become a family forever, I will always be indebted to them in life," Rane wrote.

 

"I have no interest left in contesting the elections," said the former Lok Sabha member.

He further mentioned that critics will always criticize but he would not like to waste his time and others' time when continuing further does not suit his heart.

He further extended his apology to the people who may have suffered any inconvenience or may have felt offended due to any mistake of his.

Nilesh Rane's brother, Nitesh N Rane is the current MLA from the Kankavli constituency in Maharashtra.0

Nilesh Rane was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency of Maharashtra as a member of the Indian National Congress.

In the next general elections as well Rane contested from the same constituency but he lost to Shiv Sena's candidate Vinayak Raut and later he joined Bharatiya Janta Party.
