Dom's Take: Will we get JOBS?

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday replaced the 34-year-old National Policy on Education framed in 1986 with the New Education Policy 2020.

The purpose of the new policy is aimed at paving the way for transformational reforms in school and higher education systems to make India a global knowledge superpower.

A sweeping number of reforms have been announced in the new policy.

As a result of the ongoing pandemic 122 million jobs were lost because of the lockdown.

Will the changed education system guarantee jobs to millions and millions of youth who are facing the daunting task of securing employment with the economy on the skids for the last couple of quarters.

Dominic Xavier offers his take on the most pertinent question playing on the mind of every youngster -- will these sweeping changes being brought in the education system create better employment opportunity?
