Dom's Take: Total Lockdown 2.0?

Dr Tony Faucci, who has led America's battle against the coronavirus, recommended that India lock down to bring the terrifying number of COVID-19 cases under control.

On April 13, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government would not go for lockdowns in a big way and only resort to local containment.

A week later, on April 20, Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi said a lockdown should be the 'last resort' to deal with the raging pandemic.

On Tuesday, May 4, Bihar joined states enforcing a total lockdown in an attempt to halt the growing number of COVID-19 cases.

Dominic Xavier wonders if Modi will impose a national lockdown to try and end the death and suffering that has ravaged our land.
