Will the new mutation of the coronavirus, first seen in the United Kingdom, affect India?

India has suspended all passenger flights to and from the UK for now to stall the possibility of the mutated virus arriving on our shores.

Boris Johnson's government has warned that the new strain of the virus was 'out of control' and imposed a stringent new stay-at-home lockdown for its citizens from December 20.

Prime Minister Johnson himself will travel to New Delhi for the Republic Day parade where he is the chief guest. He will be accompanied by 100 British businessmen.

Soon after he leaves, the English Test, ODI and T20 teams will arrive for a series against Virat Kohli's teams.

Dominic Xavier hopes the mutated virus won't lead to a second wave of coronavirus cases in India.
