On May 22, the United Progressive Alliance completed a year in its second term in power.

In a press conference on Monday morning, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cited the economic growth, the Right to Education Act, the Women's Reservation Bill and the improvement in foreign relations with India's neighbours as the achievements of his government.

But UPA-2 has also been plagued by various issues including spiraling prices, rise in Naxal violence, differences in opinion among ministers and corruption charges.

Dr Singh has been repeatedly criticised by the Opposition for towing a 'soft' line on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, ignoring corruption in his Cabinet and failing to control price rise.
