The Congress said on Tuesday that supplementary chargesheet would be filed against all those who have been named in the Liberhan Commission report after a police investigation.
"Certainly, absolutely, totally...Supplementary chargesheet can and will be filed," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said when asked whether such an action will be taken against all those who have been named in the Commission's report but against whom there are no FIRs.
He said the report can become the basis of further investigation by the police and the supplementary chargesheet can be filed only on the basis of such investigation and not on the basis of the report of the Commission.
Singhvi also sought to blame former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the demolition of the disputed structure saying it was a "guilt by association". "If he (Vajpayee) is aggrieved that he has been named wrongly, he has a right to go to a court of law to get it rectified. He can challenge it. He cannot say it (demolition) was not known to him... Is it not a clear case of guilt by association," the spokesman asked.
He said the report says that the top leadership (of BJP) could not but have known it. "That is guilt by association. He (Vajpayee) should have changed his associates and political party way back in 1992 to escape the charge," Singhvi said in an attack on the BJP leadership.
