The police arrested 11 Maoists including the elusive Sanjay Yadav, who was involved in Jehanabad jail-break in November 2005, from a village under Atri police station in Gaya.
Police sources in Gaya told rediff.com over phone that, the Maoists were arrested
when they gathered in a village to 'chalk out their plan for next attack.'
"After an intelligence report, a police team raided the village and arrested the Maoists, along with country-made pistols, guns and ammunition" a police official said.
Gaya and its neighbouring districts of Aurangabad, Jehanabad and Arwal are regarded as a stronghold of the Maoists. In rural Bihar, complaints of extortion by the rebels during construction and development work are common, and often lead to projects being stalled.
