The Mumbai police is willing to take cognizance of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation's findings at last in the ongoing court case related to the 26/11 case.

The police, it is learnt, is getting geared up to follow the complex procedure to get the United States' help to file the supplementary charge-sheet in the Mumbai terror attack case being tried in a special court in Mumbai.

A senior Maharashtra police officer who is connected to the investigation of 26/11 case says, "On the basis of the new findings, we will file the supplementary chargesheet in the special court at Arthur Road jail. But, it will take time."

Experts, too, believe that the trial of the 26/11 case will get complicated because the US courts will take its own time to decide the case related to the attack, in which six US citizens were also killed.

The police officer said, "The legal procedure will be followed and a letter rogatory will be prepared to get the evidence from the US."

A letter rogatory is a formal request issued by the court to a court in a foreign country to get legal assistance. Seeking help from the courts in foreign countries is not uncommon but it's normally a time-consuming affair.
