Laloo Yadav gets bail
The designated Central Bureau of Investigation court on Wednesday granted bail to former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav in connection with two cases of the Rs 9.5 billion fodder scam.
CBI Special Judge S K Lal granted bail to Yadav in RC 38
(A)/96 and RC 42(A)/96 after the agency did not file the
chargesheet in these two cases within the stipulated period of 90
days.
Pronouncing the bail order, Justice Lal directed Laloo Yadav to
submit two sureties of Rs 100,000 each and asked him
to be present before the CBI investigation officer whenever needed.
Both the cases concern illegal withdrawal of funds on
fake allotment letters by the animal husbandry department from Dumka
and Godda treasuries.
