Bihar ultras gun down 11

At least 11 people were gunned down on Monday by suspected ultras of the banned Maoist Communist Centre near Dodadih hills, about 22 km from Koderma in Bihar.

Official sources said the activists kidnapped the people travelling in a jeep and later shot them dead after tying their hands and feet. The party belonged to a particular community and were going to Jhumari Tilliya from Sapihi village in Nawada district.

Sources said the toll might be more as the number of persons abducted from the vehicle were about 15. The authorities, however, would confirm the death of only eight.

Meanwhile, a report from Nawada said five of the killed have been identified as residents of Baratardh village.
