Fodder hearing postponed to July 8

The designated Central Bureau of Investigation court on Friday postponed hearing the bail petitions of Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, his two cabinet colleagues and a former Union minister to July 8 in the Rs 9.5 billion fodder scam.

Besides Laloo Yadav's petition, the court was to hear petitions filed by Animal Husbandry Minister Bhola Ram Toofani, Labour Minister Vidya Sagar Nishad and former Union minister Chandra Deo Prasad Verma.

The postponement was due to CBI counsel L R Ansari's sudden indisposition.

On June 25, Special Judge S K Lal had dismissed the anticipatory bail petitions of all the accused. Later, they had filed anticipatory bail petitions for other cases related to the scam.

The last hearing had taken place on July 1.
