Kesri, Kanshi Ram to address public meetings in Gujarat

Congress president Sitaram Kesri and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Kanshi Ram will address public meetings in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

On his first visit to Gujarat after becoming Congress chief, Kesri will visit the Sabarmati ashram. He will also call on former prime minister Gulzarilal Nanda and address a public meeting at the Kankaria football ground on Sunday evening.

As for Kanshi Ram, he will receive three jeep rallies in the city on Sunday. The rallies were flagged from Porbandar, Bhuj and Rajpipla in Gujarat on August 27. Later the jeep rallies will restart their journey to Delhi.

In all five such jeep rallies, commencing from Kargil (Kashmir), Kohima (Nagaland), Puri (Orissa), Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) and Porbandar (Gujarat), will converge at Delhi on September 15, when the BSP chief will address a public meeting.

The aim of the rallies is to focus attention on the failure of earlier governments in fulfilling their promises to the backward classes and minorities.

Kanshi Ram will address a public meeting at Bapunagar in Ahmedabad on Sunday afternoon.
