Bernie Sanders
If Bernie Sanders bags the Democratic nomination he will be only the second person of Jewish ancestry to run for President. The first person of Jewish ancestry to run for President was Barry Goldwater who received the Republican nomination in the 1964 presidential election. If elected Sanders will by extension be the first American president of Jewish ancestry.
Hillary Clinton
If she receives the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton will be the first woman to be in the running for the presidency.
If elected she will be first female president of the United States. She will also be the first ‘first lady’ to be elected to the post.
Ted Cruz
As he beat Trump in Iowa Caucus, Ted Cruz came closer to the Republican nomination. If he gets the nomination, Cruz will be the first Hispanic-American to be in the running for the presidency.
If he wins the elections he will be the first Hispanic-American president.
Donald Trump
If he receives the Republican nomination and manages to win the election, Donald Trump he will be only the sixth man to have been elected as president without having served in any public office before.
The only other men to have been elected as president without having served in elected office are Zachary Taylor (Major General in the US Army), Ulysses S Grant (Commanding General of the Union Army during the American Civil War), William Howard Taft (Secretary of War), Herbert Hoover (Secretary of Commerce), Dwight D Eisenhower (Supreme Commander of the Allied forces during World War II).
Marco Rubio
If Marco Rubio, who came in third behind Cruz and Trump in the Iowa Caucus, wins the Republican nomination he will be the first Hispanic-American to be in the running for the presidency.
If elected to office he will be the first Hispanic-American president in American history.
