August 19, 2015: The apex court says that the case of the Ansals’ conviction in the Uphaar fire tragedy case can't be reopened. The court tells the Ansals to pay Rs 30 crore each to the families of the victims within three months. They were sentenced for a period spent in by them in jail. Both Gopal Ansal and his brother Sushil spent five months in jail.
