Chat with BJP President Nitin Gadkari

 Name

The Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing for the next round of battle.

Having won the trust vote in Karnataka on Thursday, the party is pulling out all stops to prevent attempts to bring down its only government south of the Vindhyas. And leading the party's efforts is its president Nitin Gadkari

It has been a long journey for the 52-year-old Gadkari, from a Sangh swayamsevak, to a student leader to becoming the youngest-ever BJP president.

Gadkari was entrusted with the responsibility to lead the party at a time when the Congress was playing the Rahul Gandhi card, projecting the young leader as the future prime minister and posing a serious challenge to the BJP on the leadership front.

Though an 'outsider' in New Delhi circles, Gadkari is known in the BJP as a clear thinker having a forward-looking vision and as an organiser who knows how to take the party along.

According to Dilip Phadke, a professor of political science in Pune University, "He is a performer and a strict manager. He has maintained a low profile, but has silently performed his duties."

Here's your opportunity to question the BJP president on various issues – from the political crisis in Karnataka to the forthcoming Bihar assembly election.

Nitin Gadkari will be on the Rediff Chat on October 14 at one pm to answer your queries.
