Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has refused to wear a bullet-proof jacket despite being one of the eleven chief ministers from the country on the hit list of Naxals and terrorist outfits. Chouhan has refused to accept requests from senior officials at the state police headquarters here to wear a bullet-proof jacket, officials concerned with his security said. The Union Home Ministry had issued a fresh warning yesterday to the 11 chief ministers including Chouhan that they could be possible targets for terrorist or Naxal attacks.
Chouhan said serving people was his priority and he was prepared to pay any sacrifice for it. "I feel that the people of the state are part of my family and I cannot remain away from them," he said.
