The farewell

October 1, 2008
On the last day, a tearful goodbye is offered to the goddess, when she bids farewell to her parents and returns to her husband Shiva.

Most of the community pujas postpone the farewell as long as possible and arrange a grand send-off.

The idols are carried in processions around the locality and finally immersed in a nearby river or lake.
