It's been over a month since the nation wide ban on public smoking came into effect. And, certainly, not much has changed.
Even though Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss claims that the ban has generated positive response from across the country, senior officials say the norm has been violation in a large number of places.
"Especially in places like clubs and restaurants, ban violation has been reported," B K Prasad, joint secretary in the Health Ministry, who is in-charge of the tobacco control cell, said recently.
