Replying to criticism from 'politicians in Delhi' after his violent agitation against north Indians, the MNS chief quoted Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, saying he had also expressed similar views.
In a book on Tamil superstar Rajnikant, the author has quoted Ramadoss as saying that no non-Tamil and non-Dravidian must be allowed to occupy the chair of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Raj said.
"All these people, including (Congress chief) Sonia Gandhi who had criticised me, are sitting along side Ramadoss who has been quoted to have similar views like me, then why must only I be criticized?"
In the rally, Raj justified his stance for protecting the interests of the Marathi-speaking, people saying he is advocating the cause of his brethren which is not a crime.
Raj was arrested and released on bail for inciting people following the violence in February and was also served with a 'gag order'. The Maharashtra government, meanwhile, has said that it will examine the transcript of Raj Thackeray's speech.
"We have taken a serious note of his speech. We will examine transcript of the speech to enable us to proceed," a senior government official said.
