Jodhabai a myth, asserts Salman Rushdie

Jun 04, 2008
Rushdie said he had the idea of this book in 1999, but that he was aware he did not know enough of history at the time to write on the subject. "So, I spared my time to reading into the subject and after I finished the intensive research and I took a year and a half to write it," he said.

By his own admission it had been a pleasurable experience. "Speaking as a old history student it was a pleasure (for me) to go back to my old discipline which I have not really used since I graduated from the university."
