In what has now become a routine media query, Indian-American Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has once again said he is not going to be the vice presidential candidate with the presumptive Republican nominee Senator John McCain [Images].

Despite his daily statements to the contrary, the name of 37-year-old Jindal for the running mate simply does not go away from the radar screen.

Jindal said the only criteria that Senator McCain should use in picking his running mate is who he thinks could step in if anything happened to the president.

"The great thing is he's got a number of great choices. The only criterion he should use is who does he think could step in as president. God forbid, if that were to arise. Who does he think would do the job -- don't worry about geography. Don't worry about political considerations. Just pick who you think would do the best job if they were called to serve that way," he added.

"I'm not," Jindal replied when asked if he is going to be the vice presidential candidate.

"We've got a lot more work to do in Louisiana. We've cut six taxes, reformed ethics, but we've just started. I'm voting for Senator McCain. I'll help him get elected. But I'll do it as governor of Louisiana," Jindal said on Fox News.
