At least 15 army troopers were wounded in a massive explosion on the Srinagar [Images] Uri highway on Saturday afternoon.

The police said militants targeted an army bus, which was part of a heavily escorted convoy carrying troopers near Narbal by setting off a planted improvised explosive device (IED).

"15 armymen were injured in the blast which extensively damaged the bus. All the injured were shifted to hospital. Condition of six is stated to be critical," a senior police officer said.
